Moodivate is a self-help Behavioral Activation mobile app that delivers all Behavioral Activation treatment components. Moodivate is ideal for individuals who have been feeling down, depressed, bored, and/or irritable, but are not interested in enrolling in individual therapy at this time. Moodivate is a useful treatment referral for medical providers who treat patients with symptoms of depression as clinicians can feel confident that their patients are receiving evidence-based psychotherapy components.

About Us

The Behavioral Activation Tech team is comprised of Dr. Carl Lejuez, Jennifer Dahne, and Jack Kustanowitz. We have extensive experience in psychological treatment development and evaluation, and the use of technology to put psychological care into your hands.

Jennifer Dahne is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her graduate training at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has expertise in treatment development as well as dissemination using technology.

Jack Kustanowitz is founder and principal at MountainPass Technology, a boutique software development and consulting company specializing in integrated web and mobile applications. He completed his MS at the University of Maryland where he specialized in Human-Computer Interaction, and has since been involved in many projects in the areas of Health IT and the use of technology to improve mental health.

Carl Lejuez is the Dean of the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Kansas. In his previous position he served as a Professor and the Director of Clinical Training in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Maryland. He is the developer of the Behavioral Activation Treatment for Depression and he is internationally-known for this work in the development of treatments for depression and related psychological conditions including anxiety.
